us hands down. they basically share our morals. eu has so many country's with differing beliefs/standards that it is hard to trust them or more to the point to know who to trust. america is strong, large and powerful with basically good over evil morals. britain is strong, small and reasonably powerful but it feels good to have the might of the us looking after their little sister.

i most definately feel closer to america because they share a lot of the same freedom and rights to their people as we do whereas with a number of the european countries they seem to be stuck in a rut back in time, i personally think that france is the worst so called ally because the do not want to help any of their european neighbours when asked, i am very suspicious of some of the countries in eastern europe as to why they want to be part of the eu community and in some ways scared of what could happen, with the americans they are very up front and supportive without asking anything back and always have a good word for us in the uk, i would rather have the guaranteed friendship of america than the not sures of some european countries

The US.
This is because, as a Brit and an Islander, I am not, nor will I ever be a pot bellied, weak-limbed, hairy-backed "European" with guttural manners and no real culture to speak of.
And lest anybody forget, it was the Yanks who put their lives on the line to liberate a great many Europeans from real fascism, and who fell in killing fields a long, long way from their homes.
While a great many Europeans hid under their tables waving white flags and pleading with the rest of the world to fight their fights for them, it was those men and women of renown - the Americans - who took up arms and waded in to the fight when we needed them the most.
And at horrendous cost to themselves in terms of human losses.
So the EU can go take a running jump off some suitable cliff as far as I'm concerned.
And they can take their cruddy f***in' euro with them.

EU hands down. America just causes new problems while the EU actually tries to solve them.

Absolutely not.We are an island and because of that thankfully separate. We are in a unique position as to decide who are allies are,We can choose any aspect of other peoples cultures to improve our lives without having to adhere to their politics. We can protect our borders without offending anyone yet become multicultural. It's just a shame we don't but it seems that's our choice.

I'm french, and I'm proud not to be a warrior country anymore. The problem is that we cannot do nothing when USA decides to go for war. They think, and for the moment they are kings of the world, and it is really sad because they don't do the Right.
