That's a hard question to answer without saying something offending to smeone else, no matter how it gets arranged.
There are tons of seperatist actions all over this world that single someone out because of their height, weight, body build, color, breed, and gender.
I remember talk about an old theater back in the days that was white only and then when the early reformations came out the theater had to switch with the rest of America. It had absolutely all the same amenities for the blacks as it did for the whites but comepletely segregated. Those segregation days were akin to saying we had two seperate americas black america and white america. And for all intents and purposes....we did. Everything was divided by a wall. We provided restrooms for black and white people, water fountains for black and white people, even housing districts for balck and white america. At the time....everyone was proud of the efforts that had been achieved. No longer was a significant percentage of the voting populace being denied the availability, they were getting their very own. Then came the day where blacks and white were integrated it was chaos and many persons on both sides wished to go back to their segregated ways.
That is kind of what I see when I look at things like this. It is no longer a regulated mandatory segregation, but a decision to segregate. And when this self aware segregation goes too far it can be called reverse racism.
There is the United ***** College Fund that accepts application from minorities to pay for their higher education and college level learning. One particular story I remember from the 1990's was that a white kid was denied application to this fund because he could not prove he was a minority...understandably. So eventually he became disillusioned and began some sort of college education that only accepted applications from students who were white (if he had rephrased the statement to a nonminority it might have gotten better press) The United ***** College Fund is not seen as racist or even reverse racist, since they ascertain the applicant has to be a nonmajority. The white college fund was seen as racist because it only targetted whites, ie caucasians, the majority.
You can't look at racism as a black and white culture definition.....one has to immediately change everything to represent majority and minority wordings and coloquialisms.
It is true, yes, right here right now, American majority is white.....however in the future it will not be. American majority will be something that can not be fathomed by the census as it is now. This is where all the fear and anger comes from. As it stands now a white male has no legal protection with exception of only what is generalized as majority. White female, black male and female, white/hispanic male and female, asian male and female, native american male and female and if such things as Antarctic male and female existed they would all be covered under the minority clause. It is society's definition, and in order to change society's definition one must change society.

I agree with you and I don't understand why some white or any other race has not put the money out to make them change the name to ET. What is why can't it just simply be called Entertainment Television? Why does it have to have the word BLACK in front of it? It is a statement that blacks are better then whites. That is all it is, Just a slap in the face.
I think it should be like this. If they are haters they should be deported back to the country there great ansisters were from. Black go to Africa and whites be sent back to England or Germany or where ever they came from . If it is a Mexican they should be sent back to Mexico an so on.

I think it's just a matter of preference. Many people don't like rap or R&B, but if blacks are the main ones making it, it SHOULD be given it's own station. Many people don't like country music, or heavy metal. They, too, should have their own stations for the ones who appreciate it, and they do. It's not for one race, only, but it certainly describes what you will hear if you turn to that channel. The country music stations don't advertise "white" music, but you have an idea as to what you will hear just from the name alone. When I want to hear a little Shania, guess where I turn. It's only marketing, not to be confused with open racism.

As a black person, i would say that channels like BET are for black people because we are a minority and underrepresented in American culture.BET is a channel where black people can access their favorite, music, tv shows, culture, religious programs as well as information on politics and world events from the black perspective. White people can't do this because they are the majority in the US. They are represented in almost every channel, TV show or network. They don't need a place just for them because its everywhere.

Disadvantaged peoples (minorities) get reparations through preferential treatment, also known as quotas and Affirmative Action.
That is the NAACP philosophy.
However, certain black celebrities such as Bill Cosby understand that special treatment isn't a good idea. Equal treatment for ALL people is best.

Basically rascism has completely did a 180 in the recent years now black are far more rascist to most whites than whites are to them. Not all many blacks are very kind as are white people. its the select few that scream the race card on every little detail. We all need to just get over the mistakes of the past. And as pathetically cliche'd as it is "can't we all just get along". Its getting old and its getting stupid. Well all need to be one race "the human race"

Because they are considered as a minority. You also get school scholarships for black, hispanic and so on but not white. Just think of them as you little brother. Whatever you have the little brother must have as well. They also can have certain things that you don't have because they are your little brother.

Look at most of the stations on tv these days. Aliens in space must think blacks are 99 % of the pop here in the usa. Small wonder I seldom watch tv anymore.

I have thought the exact same thing. We need the Caucasian American channel and then they could file a suit and then remember oops--Blacks have one for their own race. Hmmm... I thinks it is stupid that every race does not have their own channel if one is allowed to have theirs.

Get a grip girl friend! Most television shows are for white people.
So one is published for black people? Don't watch it!
Some one ought to show you how to use a remote control.
Why does it stress white people so much if they think something is for black people? When almost everything is for white people.
My suggestion, don't watch it.
