If you or someone you know is bi-racial, please help? I hate having to pick a box for his 'ethnicity' (on school registration forms, etc.). I always check "other", then get bombarded by questions from whomever is reading the form. GRRR!!! I don't know that much about his biological parents...
How do you decide which box to check??!!
Informed, intelligent answers only, please...

you're gonna have to check other, it's the only thing close. most forms are offering "bi-/multi-racial" so don't worry most of the world is changing. but be sure to teach him that he is bi-racial and what it means and how some jerks are gonna treat him differently, etc, etc.

To be honest, if I ever prefer to commence a kin, i could be completely happy to undertake a multi-racial newborn or babies - i think of they're frequently very appealing! in spite of the fact that, i does not be so into adopting a infant, as i'm surely no longer stable at looking after very toddlers, yet i'm high quality with older ones (ie, any age over 3-4) yet hi, those are the babies that want properties the main.

I don't understand why anyone would question you further..My girls are bi-racial and i have always checked other..I suggest that when they ask you questions about it..You ask them why they want more information?? because that is what the OTHER box is for..not to give you the 3rd degree... it is not easy in these days raising children ..let alone bi-racial children..but be strong is my suggestion and don't show anyone how much they upset you about it..it all works out eventually..at least for me..i am very defense about my girls..i want them to be respected for who they are.. don't stress too much ..ok..you can always send me mail if you have questions..take care

you can check other. or maybe you can check multiple boxes to choose both races. it's not your fault the forms assume people will not be of mixed races. anyway, most of the time the race section is optional so maybe you could just leave it blank if you prefer.

can understand your trouble in your mind & heart, See its still our problem as a whole, you want your child to have pride in his race and teach him well, but when we as a nation can't get it right, I"M half Indain, but don't look like I am,and also get those looks, so I get to check other "BOX" also, hand write in, after you check the box, maybe it"ll take another 50 years for them to get it right

You will either have to chose 'other' and deal with the questions or pick something until the outdated forms catch up with our lives.

Check other, then off to the side write both races.

Check other and them tell them to go to hell, they have "No" business asking you that!!! That what that box is for not for them to question you.
