Do you agree?

What are you on about - there was a King in the mid 1900's the man George VI !!

He died 06/02/52.

Do your reseach - you would have found out that's just the way it is and that it depends who the heir to the throne may be - the next monarch will be a King - Jugears (Prince Charles - Prince of Wales) and another King after that - his son Will.

No.

We have a very successful economy, unemployment is at a very low rate, but inflation is also fairly low too. There are more people than ever getting a good education. We have a free democracy, which is more than can be said for a lot of other countries. We are rightly envied the world over for our open and accepting attitude to people of other ethnic backgrounds who daily enrich our culture. And talking of culture, if you watched any of the Proms concerts, we have some of the greatest orchestras, art galleries and theatres in the world, as well as the greatest rock and pop artists.

Great Britain is flourishing.

I mean for goodness sake we wouldn't want to be like Australia where the greatest Australian is someone who put his head in crocodile's mouths for a living, now would we.

I agree entirely with what you say.My theory on the reason why is based upon what has happened to other great civilizations in the past.Great pinnacles of civilization have usually come about through wealth creation from Empire building.Following the economic growth period ,the newly enriched, powerful society produces great scholars, scientist, philosophers, artists and so on.After this golden period a decline, caused by lethargy and liberalism amongst subsequent generations sets in and from then on in it's often down hill all the way.

From an outsiders perspective it seems that things began to become undone under thatcher when the cons began to pass their crazy laws. Remember the one that made it illegal to show the face or play a recording of an IRA leader talking? Now with Blair and New Labour's (Tory LIght) anti-terror legislation the freedoms that make a country great are sliding away even more.

Its just North of Lowestoft. Its shacked up with Yarmouth.

And no the Countrys not going to ruin its just us so called Adults let a bunch of pricks run the place.
Anyone arrogant enough to claim they can run a country should be shot live on TV. Like a modern day Witch Trial. If they survived they get the job.

Hmm, I'm torn. Perhaps you could give reasons for why you think the country is going to ruin?

Being involved in a ridiculous war that has made us a target for terrorists hasn't been brilliant. And there seems to be a fatal stabbing every day amongst our teenagers at them moment, but I'm not really sure how we solve either of those problems at the moment....

All in all though we're still a free, tolerant and largely happy nation - I like it here, at least.

I believe the 'Great' bit originates from the time when we spoke french. The Normans called us Grand Bretangne to differentiate from their own Bretangne (Brittany). It was more to do with size than how wonderful we are (yes we are still - go abroad and find out).
And to answer your question, yes we have lots of problems but nothing that bringing total power back to Westminster (now a Regional Assembly of the Soviet States of Europe) won't cure.

So why don`t you go and live in a country where you have "no" right to put an opinion on a site like Yahoo Answers..
To say that this country is going to ruin is defeatist and unpatriotic, you should be ashamed of yourself.
I spent many years serving and protecting this great country, so that people like "you" could voice their opinion.
I did not serve my country so that you could ridicule it.
I`m proud of my country and always will be!!!
At times I wonder why I served my country with pride!!!!! So that your kind can ridicule it!

Our country has always been great, cosmopolitan and accepting of others, full of culture(although burger chains etc are trying to take that away and turn this land into a place full of fat materialist morons). You should try it someday.Britain is great and at least our prime minister knows how to speak the english language without the need of an interpreter!
