Why is it when I meet a President Bush supporter and I state I'm a Liberal the get scared of me and shake like a leaf in the wind? Why?

Anyone who knows what they think and believe is terrifying to those who don't. I have met Liberals that freak at an Independent or Republican. It has nothing to do with your party affiliation, and probably a lot more to do with you personally.

Not a bad thing . . . also, don't link all Republicans with Bush supporters. Yes, Bush supporters are usually Republicans but not all Republicans are Bush supporters.

Instead of trying to "the Republicans shake like a leaf in the wind," why not work to make the country better?

Because the only level on which they can lawfully engage with you is in discussion. If a discussion goes for longer than a minute, you might actually need to come up with some argument that actually makes sense.

I'm not saying that republicans, as a rule cannot, its just that I see more shouting and name calling than I do ideas and intelligent debate.

In regards to conservatism, and constitutionalism, my main problem is that they are concerned with hanging on to, respectively, institutions and ideas from the past.

I suppose I am saying they inhibit new thought or new thinking, as they are trying to hold onto these things, and maintain the status quo, rather than aiming for improvement across the board in terms of laws, lifestyles, freedom, health care... everything.

I would neither shake nor tremble.

My stance would be firm.

My handshake would be rock solid.

It is because of people like you that so much in our country is wrong:

generational welfare

black on black violence

abortion

homosexuality

Maybe the people you meet are simply a good judge of character, and their trembling is only a sign that they are dealing with their own Fight or Flight response by not calling you out for the cultural calamities for which you are responsible.

Ah, yes, another individual who wishes to take the finite quantity of my life-energy and its products (wealth, property, contributions to the society at large), and redistribute it as you see fit to other individuals and entities who are neither entitled to nor deserving of any of it.

Liberals like you don't make me shake, they make me sick! As do Republicans of the same mindset.

Read your Constitution and start doing what it says. Make your elected Representatives (be they whatever party) do what it says.

Oh, wait... you won't do that. The slogan of your party is "destroy the Constitution and interpret what's left how we see fit!"

Proud to be a Constitutionalist.

Liberals talk loud and make commotion, they're not good at providing nice, tidy, lists of compaints. Republicans deal better with order rather than in your face behavior.
