9/11 was a terrible day, not only in the U.S, but also all around the world.
I think that 9/11 should NEVER be forgoten, and if it was up to me, I would build a memorial for those who dies there, on the site where the twin towers used to stand.
However, after watching a 2-part tv programme, and numerous others since this event, I do think that things have gone a little over the top. Sure it was bad, and as I said, it shoul never be forgoten, but I do think the press and tv companies should hold back a bit.
Also, as someone else said, the film companies are really usin this as an excuse to make money out of- something I think is wrong. One film maybe, but I know of at least two films about this.

Yes, 9/11 does make me sick. It makes me sick that these evil extremists could perpetrate such an atrocity on innocent citizens. And what makes it even worse is people who try to downplay it's significance and act like there isn't a real terror threat out there. I once thought that people would be desensitized if they showed that footage too often. Now, I know that it should be on TV every day to remind the complacent that we live in dangerous times. That is one thing that W lied about; He said Americans wouldn't lose their resolve. Well, I guess that was a half truth, because some of us haven't.

I think for yourself what you're saying is that you cannot heal with the memories being brought into light each year. And yes, to some, it may seem a bit much - commercially, but I don't beleive the intention is to boost ratings
I don't think we should EVER forget this tragic day. I still cry when I see the images and hope that those who sacrificed for us that day (and continue to do so in Iraq), will never be forgotten.

Ok - I agree with what your saying BUT you cannot forget about such a tradgedy.
I do think the more the media broadcast things about it though that bin laden and all those women doing tarzan crys that were on the news will be thinking "ha ha ha keep crying you western scum".
It should be mourned in a positive way.
Make all the victims Martyers so they can go to paradise and beat up all the suicide bombers and steal their virgins off them !
Not at all meant in bad taste - I think it is an awful thing that happened to undeserving innocent people - not that I'm saying that anyone should deserve that before anyone get on their high horse !!!

"Sick of it?" No, but I see your point. Maybe you could have worded it better. Still, I think the wounds are too fresh not to do it every year. However, if you would prefer, you could celebrate the fourth anniversary of me leaving a horrible job--I did that on the first anniversary of 9/11.

9/11 was a real eye-opener for me. How can we forget about 9/11? It was like one of the biggest and most recent attacks that happened to America from some outside country.

Yes, I thought maybe we could get on this "Fight for Freedom" kick but that never happened. Oh well... I still like this getting rid of North Dakota, who has the least violence per capita and doesn't help the rest of US, to the French Canadians and driving Bloody British out of Pennsylvania once and for all! Bit though.

I agree in the sense that all the proceeds from any movie made about the subject should be sent to the appropriate charity or group. However, I do not agree that we should not remember it. My grandfather lost a brother in Pearl and he never failed to recognize that day. I feel that we have to remember these tragedies. We lose a sense of purpose if we do not.

Our new choir director is a New Yorker and he has insisted on doing a tribute to 9/11 tomorrow. I think he wanted to make all attendance mandatory but luckily several of us talked the administration out of it.
I guess there are New Yorkers who are sick of it, and others who want to wallow in it. Its an interesting contradiction. I wonder which kind of New Yorker there is more of?

Dude, you're a f*cker. Do you even understand 9/11? Do you even understand WHAT happened? You need to research. How dare you post this question. There are people in this world who knew people on those planes! Maybe you would understand if you had someone special die in that situation.
