Which one? You can make them all; extraction of the oil from a plant source is probably cheaper.

Yes, essential oils can be made. First you need to figure out if your oil is going to be heavier or lighter than water. Then you need to buy the appropriate distilling apparatus. Then you need a large quantity or plant material (roses and jasmine take approximately 2000lbs of petals to make 1 oz of absolute). It is very much easier to buy essential oils than to make your own. Also, never use essential oils directly on the skin without diluting them. Ask your local herbalist or natural health/food store for more info. Get books from the library... lots of good resources out there.

I am not able to do that but I use essential oils for several things. First one is I make my own perfume with several essential oils, depending upon what you like. Second I make my own essential oil sachets for your drawers, but I mostly use mine with Lavender essential oil and put it between my pillows on my bed because Lavender essential oil is calming. Candles and soap is made with fragrant oil and that is essential oil with a carrier oil in it. Actually essential oils are made from fruits, flowers and many other things. I hope this helps you.

In addition to what Kei said, I'm a member of a yahoogroup that talks about herbs and their uses. There are a number of wonderful recipes among the files for essential oils and infusions. The name of the list is AnHerbGarden.
