Does anyone know of any place that sells clothes for women with large busts but small everything else? I am NOT plus sized, I'm not overweight, I'm not big. My boobs are big, that's it. If I find something that fits my chest, then it's too big everywhere else. I don't want to look fat by wearing clothes in bigger sizes. I don't want to wear my size because then my boobs either don't fit into it or they spill out. And yes, I've looked into having clothes altered to fit me, it's expensive and I'm not going to spend a fortune getting everything I buy altered by a professional seamstress. I don't have that kind of money and I don't have the time to do it myself.

Ok, please read the question before you answer, I already said it's too expensive to go to a seamstress for alterations or the creation of custom clothing.

I know just how you feel. I am a 4-6 everywhere but my bust (34D now but I used to be a 34F). So I've always had a hard time with dresses.

You have to stick with separates, trying to find a dress or another one piece style wil be hard work without alterations. When you buy a top, you can always belt or tuck in the top to fit your waist. Right now longer and bulkier tops are in style, so you are in luck. Get one that fits your bust, then let it hand over your pants with a belt low on the waist. It's a great look to flatter your curves (I know, I do it myself).

To flatter a full bust:
Scoops and V-necks are best. They break up the expanse of your chest, try to stay with solid colors.
Cap sleeves, 3/4, or long sleeves bring attention away from you bust. A short sleeve frequently stops at the fullest part of your breasts.
Avoid high necklines, rounded collars, and square necks. They can add to much bulk to the area, making it look messy.
Also avoid tops that are too baggy or too tight. Try to find styles that fit your bust first, and your waist second.
Stay away from sleeveless, spaghetti straps, and halters. They emphasize your bust.
If it's a blouse or shirt with a lapel, the lapel should be small and vertical. Larger and wider ones just bring attention to the area.
Avoid breast pockets and detailing at all costs.
Avoid high and empire waistines.

For a dress, avoid empire waists and A-lines. The dress should be simple and flowing. Try a biased cut dress so that you don't have to have a cinched waist.

When you go shopping, make sure to try everything on before you buy it. If it doesn't fit well, put it back on the rack. It's better to only have a few pieces of well fitting clothes than a closet of things that don't flatter you.

I have pretty good luck at Deb for tops that fit well, and also try discount stores to save money. If you don't spend as much for the top/dress, then you might be able to afford the seamstress. The one in my area only charges $20 per hour for alterations. Most of the things I've taken to her have taken one or two hours at most. Adding darts or taking in seams isn't a lot of work, so check your area for pricing information at different seamstresses. Also, remember to check dry cleaners. Most of them will do small things, sometimes at better prices than the seamstresses.

Clothes For Large Bust

Ok two years ago I was your size. Now, there is always Lane Bryant stores, but their clothes are usually shapeless. The longer you're large, the less you give a flip, especially when you're bigger around the middle than either end. Don't start in on the T-shirts, unless you get some that are cut for you. They'll either be too tight around your middle or too loose around the top. NOT cool. I'd try to find two-piece outfits, that way you can get one size for top and one size for bottom if you need to. Try to keep your skirts from below the knee to mid calf. Much longer and it'll make you look dumpy, and short skirts still make me look fat. I'm the same height as you, so I know. Now, if you can wear heels, that'll help. Whatever you do, try to stay toned up. I'm not fussing to lose, I'm saying keep your body limber and mobile. The more you let yourself go, the worse you'll let yourself get. I was at 304 before I finally had a bad turn in falling, and now I've lost down to 156. NO gastric bypasses, either. But it's hard, because I let myself go so. Don't do like I did!

I have the SAME problem. I like to wear stretchy shirts. They stretch where needed and don't stretch where not needed. I find that they are very form fitting and comfy to boot! You may also want to try a minimizing bra with other tops that do not stretch. And if you're like me and can't wear button front tops you can try wearing a stretchy tank or cami(the kinds with the built in bra are wonderful because us bigger chested girls can rarely go without a bra lol) under the button top and only button it up to right under the breasts. It makes for a nice layered look. Hope I've been helpful!

i have some ideas...because i am in the same situation as you!!

i would firstly say stay away from anything that is tight from the top but goes out from underneath....it will make you look fat to be frank....you need something that wil go in at thr waist and show it off!!

also....wrap around tops are good because they arent too tight around the bust but cinch in at the waist.....giving you a brillian hourglass figure.

dont wear high necked tops!! they will give you a errrmmm 'uniboob' hahah yess i invented that myself...but it really is true.

hope that helped
xxxxxxx

Try tops that are MEANT to fit loosely.
Thats what i do so it fits my bust and then just looks stylish everywhere else.

Think tunicy with just a little more structure. Its a really big trend right now so you should be able to find some.

I really like long skirts. My bf desires the brief ones. So my wardrobe is crammed w/ 1/2 and 1/2.

Its tough, if you need bigger at the bust it will also be bigger everywhere else. I would go to a seamstress and have things made for you.
