Dark Crystal! That was such an awesome movie. It's from the 80's and the characters are muppet type (it was made by JIm Hensen) , but it's fantasy. It's a fun movie for all aged kids!
Check it out! http://www.fast-rewind.com/ and click on Dark Crystal on the left side

If your children can handle it (rated PG for otherworldy creature violence), they should try Spirited Away. Produced by the renowned Hayao Miyazaki, this movie is a "heartwarming" story about a whiny girl named Chihiro, who is moving to a new town. On the way there, her parents stop at what appears to be a deserted Japanese fairground, and look around. Upon seeing a table full of steaming food, they tuck in, much to Chihiro's anger. Chihiro looks around, but returns to find that her parents have turned into pigs! To save them, she must enlist the help of the strange boy, Haku, and become a slave at the Japanese bathouse, a resort for otherworldy spirits and gods. It is a wonderful movie, showing Chihiro's transformation from a whiny brat to a mature, young girl.

Labrynth. It's wonderful for kids (even though David Bowie is wearing spandex - you'll know what I mean when you see him!) - it's magical, fun, hysterical, and features some of Jim Henson's finest work - however, when I say kids I'd not show it to anyone under the age of 7 - there are parts that could seem scary for little ones.

My kids and I love Labyrinth with David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly. Both the puppetry and the soundtrack are amazing.

Legend with Tom Cruise before he became a nut. It is a very sweet romantic movie. Also try Ever After with Drew Barrymore. It was also a very sweet and romantic movie.
