I LOVE Clydesdales. Despite knowing that a horse can clearly carry my with no problem, I just feel safest when I have a very big, sturdy horse. Clydesdales are slower but I like their personalities more. There was an old Clydesdale down the road until it died last summer that had an additude like a friendly young filly until her last moments. The older Appaloosas I have known seem to become bitter after about 15 years.

Both they are both beautiful breeds of horses with unique traits about them. Such as the Appaloosa's coat variations and the Clydesdale's feathers and impressive height. clyds are good for some show ring events and Appaloosa's are good trail and light work horses. Only disadvantage of owning a Clydesdale is the feed, shoeing, and board. Other then that they are great gentle horses.

Clydesdale or a cross inbetween. Appaloosas sometimes have terrible tempers and any horse could, sure, but Appys tend to have that trait running through them.
Clydesdales are usually more gentle, but they are huge and do require more feed. It just depends on your preference. It you want a big husky giant, go for the Clydesdale. If you want a uniquely colored horse that is 'normal' size then go for the Appy.

Appaloosa definitely!!! Clydesdales are nice to look at but the can't do much except carting and maybe saddle. Appaloosas can jump, dressage, all Western shows, and most English shows. I object to that insult to Appaloosas though. My mom used to own a Appaloosa and he looked like a Thoroughbred with a gorgeous spotted blanket.

They're really quite different! Appaloosa probably because they're more unusual plus Clydesdales are a bit too heavy for me.

Clydesdale's are great for heavy work like carriage driving or therapeutic horsemanship.
Appaloosas are good for lighter riding such as western or English or Endurance etc

For saddle horse the Appaloosa would be the better choice.
For driving or pulling the Clydesdale.
Would depend on what you were looking to do with the horse.
