The Da Vinci Code.
It's a work of fiction, never billed as truth. This is what prevents it from being a fraud. Once you open the cover of a work of fiction, you must assume that everything in it is fictional. I think the author is ingenious, because he fictionally attempts to establish fact within the first few pages. That's all a part of the set up for the greater story line.

The Da Vinci Code is a FICTIONAL book, so fraud isn't really a question because only foolish people claim that it is true when there is no factual back up. Look in any library and see where they shelf the book, it's in the fiction section.

Yes it is just a yarn, take it with a rather large pinch of salt. There was a programme on British TV that "de bunked" it. Maybe someone will find a copy in a cave somewhere in 2000 years time and declare it as the most truthful book ever written.

Up to you what you want to believe.
