My wife and I moved from our hometown about 26 years ago.
For a long time afterward we would take off on the 250 mile drive every time we, actually I, needed to get away and clear my mind. It always seemed that the drive and visiting familiar things made everything better.
Having recently made that journey we were disappointed to realize that there is nothing there for us anymore.
The drive down didn't do anything put deepen my feelings of despair.
Just last night I came into my home office and just set here drinking coffee and thinking. i finally went to bed about 3 A.M. and woke up this morning feeling much better and at peace.

The beach. Looking at the waves and the sky makes you feel like there is so much more to life than what you think.

I go to a railroad bridge. It's surrounded by a forest, and it's behind a beautiful graveyard. It's so wonderful to meditate and listen to the sounds the stream makes.

I go to the mountains. I love the piney woods and the sense of serenity I feel there. I like to play native flute music while meditating there

I go to my piano. It always helps me think things over, especially if I'm upset about something.
