War of the Worlds was actually a decent movie. Whereas, Independence Day was just another thing that Will Smith did. He's always the same character.

Independence day is the definitive B-Grade Alien Invasion film of the 90s; therefore its a classic; war of the worlds, on the other hand, is one of the worst alien movies ever.

I liked Independence Day because I thought it was pretty audacious to blow up the White House.
Though War of the Worlds was much creepier...more like "what would really happen if aliens attacked..."
So I'll go with WofW!

to easy Independence Day was so much better. Will Smith is a much better actor than Tom Cruise

ID4 was WAY better than that horrible remake of War of the Worlds.
Now if it was the original version, then I would say it'd be a tie.
