I've found that I have to be happy, and love myself first.( not in a sexual way)

Do something nice for yourself every day, some kind of treat. It doesn't have to be anything big, maybe just a special candy bar, or taking a moment to sit outside and listen to the earth. Take the time to cook something new for yourself for dinner. It seems to me, that when I do special things for myself, I feel more like ME. And when I do, I'm happier.

People who are happier are a magnet to folks who want to be happy as well. It's a self completing circle.

I'd write more but need to get something out of the freezer for MY special dinner!

Good luck!

I've always believed true happiness comes from within, as it's a feeling and feelings are based on how we percieve things. There is no formula or plan of action that makes happiness for everyone, it's somehting you have to find along your own journey. It can involve other things or people, but in the end you yourself will determine your own happiness. I think the only true way to do this is through self reflection. Asking yourself what kind of person you are and what you what in life and importantly being very honest about those answers is one way to go about it. Another perspective it asking why are you not happy? Either way these are things for you to discover and maybe you can do this with other people or yourself, that depends on the kind of person that you are.

It sounds like you've hit a real hard place in life. It's unfortunate to hear that. Some people are not happy because of recent events in their life that have derailed things (break-up,divorce, some sort of loss), others consistantly think negatively because of how their brain chooses to interput situations. If you have found that the latter maybe the case and you find that recently you've lost interest in things you have enjoyed before, then maybe you should talk to someone professionally. This could be a from of depression and is a serious issue, but one that you can get help with. Best of luck in your journey, the world is a beatiful place if you allow yourself to see it.

Happiness, finding it, and staying happy, is diferant for each and every person. For some people, it is success in their chareer. For some its being in a loving marrage with children. For some its going out and partying every day of the week. There is no sure fire, way to find & keep happiness.

For some people it does involve others, and for some it is self created.

I personally believe, happiness starts with self contentment. And trying to make the best of everyday. Be kinder when its unessecary. Go out of your way to do something most people don't do.

Read this OLD poem written in the 1600's and I think it will help you in your quandry :)

The Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise & haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull & ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud & aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others you may become vain & bitter; for always will there be greater & lesser persons then yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity & disenchantment it is perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue & loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentile with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less then the trees & the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors & aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its shams, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.

For me I just decided I was going to be happy. I made a few changes in my life, I accepted the things that I couldn't change and become happy with in. I was tired of being miserable with my life and everyone in it. Now , I am very happy and things seem to be going better for me overall. Just decide and make some appropriate changes, then sit back and say this is my life and I am going to be happy no matter what. It works!

i think it starts with yourself, happiness is not something you say or do.i I had a miserable childhood and my teenage years were no better, then i had 2 wonderful little girls, but i still wasnt truly happy. Dont misunderstand my girls made me happy but i still didnt like myself very much, bad relationships, bad decisions, then one day my soul mate walked into my life. I couldnt have been happy without him, now i love myself, i'm a better person a better mother, but the bottom line is that i am happy............finally. Now it may very well be possible to find happiness without love for yourself and others but i dont think so.

"I'm lovin' my self..and the fact is when you love yourself..that's where it'll came from..you also learn to love others..and being that gives you that sense of contentment, happiness and security..knowing that other people are just like you..we are all people..human beings on this earth..I feel blessed…I am just blessed that I’m alive…I’m healthy…that I’m just able…and everything..there are a billion people on this earth..and some have been through, going through or have been born unfortunate..whatever..and you try to see that..you look at yourself..you have these..happiness that's not come only because you got the fame, money, or what..but the true meaning of happiness is LOVE..it is..and that's what makes me celebrate life…that’s what keeps me going..if you cultivate your mind to be positive then all states or areas in yourself and your life will be in that clear outlook..you can have that sense of contentment and happiness..that security and assurance.. ..knowing that..being in a proper and positive mindset will enable you to counteract whatever and every negativity or bad feedback being thrown your way or at you…because your constructive mind knows how to brawl with it.."

to be posititve minded may help to overcome the negative thoughts we might have which lead to rejection, low self esteem, depression etc.

perhaps u can always try to put a smile on ur lips and look at life in more merciful approach, slowly u may develop that happiness. in short, never ever take things PERSONALLY.

May happiness be with u always.

my happiness is doing the next right thing and apologizing immediately if I have offended or hurt anyone. I don't think ppl can make us happy .. I do think we can make ourselves, happier, by the ppl we choose to be around and with.

I dont' do anything to be happy I just choose to be happy

I think it varies depending on the person. I also think that happiness finds YOU when you least expect it.
