Lexington was the match that lit the fuse that exploded into the revolution.

By the time that Lexington happened both sides were on the brink of war. The British sent in troops to put the Colonists in their place, and the Colonists responded with the Minutemen.

If not Lexington, there would have been a match somewhere else.
