Colorado is a gorgeous state.
If you enjoy skiing, any of the ski resorts would be great to stay at for all or part of your visit. My favorite one is Winter Park.
Denver is a great city to visit also. There is so much to do and see. The weather there is very changeable in the winter. It can snow overnight and get to 60 degrees the next day. You simply cannot plan your trip around the weather.

It's very pretty. The winter weather is often like an old girlfriend I once had: sunny but cold. Naturally, it snows sometimes, but Denver itself has more sunny days annually than almost anywhere in America. If you come out, you'll probably come through Denver, which is pretty nice. Young people often enjoy Boulder, which is just a bus ride away and home to the largest university in the state. You should try to visit someplace up in the mountains, though, to get a taste of the real beauty of the Rockies. There are a large variety of resorts to choose from, and the winter activities they offer are world-renowned. Have a good visit!

I love Colorado. It's like Heaven on Earth to me.
If you like the outdoors, winter sports, etc, the mountain resort towns are great--Vail, Copper, Breckenridge, Keystone....
If that's not your thing, and you want to stay in "civilization," try Denver or Boulder. Be warned, though, that Denver has one of the top worst traffic ratings in the country. If you can get past that, you'll have lots of fun there.
Boulder's another great city to visit, more for relaxed than Denver. The city encourages people to get around by bicycle, and they can be rented all over. They also have public bus system, which they give names to instead of route numbers--Hop, Skip, Jump, Boulder, Dash, Stampede.

Colorado is beautiful. As for where to stay, it depends on what you want to do. If you want to come for skiing and stuff like that, you may want to stay up in the mtns, Vail, Aspen, Breckenridge, Telluride, Copper Mountain. Otherwise, Denver or Boulder. I would probably suggest Denver (Boulder doesn't have its own airport so you have to fly into Denver anyway). Boulder isn't far so you could go up there for a day (depending on where in Denver you stay, it's about 30 minutes). But I think there is more to do in the Denver area.

Colorado is beautiful. A wonderful place to
be. I have seen it get about -30F in the winter, with even colder windchill factor, and high winds, then I have seen it go up to 65 in the middle of winter. It is considered part of the high desert, therefor pretty dry during the winter. The snow is very light and fluffy. Come spring, then you get the wet heavy snow.

Beautiful, and different all over. In the northeast, plains, in the southwest, desert, in the northwest, mountains. Denver is cool, as are the mountain towns. Depends on what you like.
