ans 2. ( 3*3* 3* 3*3 ) - (5* 5* 5 )
=243 -125
=118

ah, i remember algebra. distribute the 4 to the 2. 4X2=8. then distribute the 4 to the 7. 4X7=28. add 8+28 and you get 36. so i'm thinking the answer is 38-k?
for #2 all you do is multiply 3, 5 times. 3X3X3X3X3=243.
3X3=9, 9X3=27, 27X3=81, 81X3=243
#3 -5X-5=25. 25X-5=-125.
remember, if you have a number and it is to an odd power, the answer will always be negative. if you have a number to an even power, it's always going to be positive.

= (8+ 28)- k
= 36-k
3 to 5th power
=3x3x3x3x3
=243
-5 to 3rd power
= -5x-5x-5
= -125
and 243-125= 118
