We think because we can remember bits of information and process them to form thoughts. Is it possible in the future technology to have a machine (computer) to do the same thing?

My gut instinct tells me we can.

This is a complicated question... First we don't really fully understand the human brain so we can "reproduce" it's activity... Second, right now is in "simulation" the behaviour of neuron network but with the biggest supercomputer which exists today they manage to "simulate" the activity of arround 10000 neurons (this "supercomputer" has over 2000 processors working in parallel) and the human brain has billions of neuron so... we don't have yet the technology...

Depends on your definition of think. We have AI systems right now that can think logically, can deal with probabilities (which is maybe's), and can learn. If you want emotions, those are controlled by chemicals and instincts built in over thousands of years. The main reason the average person doesn't encounter AI is expense. We haven't gotten computer technology miniaturized enough yet to match the brain's computing power and storage capability in anything less than a room size computer, with its attendant price tag. But, heck, we've only had computers around for maybe 60 years, while the human brain has been developing for thousands. Give us a couple of hundred years and the human brain may seem like an Atari computer.

I think it would require multiple processors and programs. Computers allready think logically but don't include the human variable in there thaught process. Feelings could be programmed quite easily but caring about others feelings is the hard thing. Also if a computer were able to deduct reasoning from old memories we would ruin it by interfering with the reasoning process like we all do to each other. Ultimately survival would kick in and we can kiss our *sses good by. When we learn how to think (the right way) then yes I think it would be very possible.

moral length, properly might want to you enable someone you want to run on a Microsoft operating device and committing suicide with the help of dividing with the help of 0. If as some scientists imagine there's a quantum aspect in idea and knowledge, basically downloading received't do the job. you'll have the ideas that construct the id, besides the undeniable fact that the ghost will be lacking from the gadget.

The simplest answer is, computers "think" in yes and no terms! The human brain thinks the same with one exception. Yes, no, and maybe! The "maybe " equation is elusive and as yet, cant be programmed into a system but BEWARE! When man finds a way to do this, man will be obsolete!

If we can get a robot to behave like a dung beetle, then it will be a monumental success. However, to model something as complex as a human brain -- or any primate for that matter -- is a different matter altogether. Will the robot have a soul?

Robot can think as us but they can't do proper things by using brain because robots are made up of machine they need Battery.
They can do whatever they see & what others do.But it can be a Dangerous to us.Because they can't recognise between Good & Bad things.Only we can decide, "what is right to us & others?" & this is only Because of Enzymes present in our body.We & Robots can think Excellent but Enzymes Differ us from Robots.
Enzymes Conroll our body by changing in atmosphere & surronding condition.

Do a search on artificial intelligence. I'm assuming you mean think on their own vs. using preprogrammed instructions.

they ve come along way with AI, its still not as good as the brain though

there are supercomputers now that do do quad-billions of data per second ...100 times smarter than man ..any smarter they won't need man
