OK, since there is a birthday party at 5, concentrate on what *needs* to be done. You can take your laundry baskets and chuck them into your room and shut the door. No one will be going in your bedroom during the party. If kids will be going in your childrens room during the party, think of some little treat or something you can give as a prize for who picks up the toys the fastest. Maybe the younger kid can team up with one of the older kids. In the kitchen, just do the dishes and wipe everything down. If you have a swiffer those help a lot especially when you have no time to mop. The main point is that when people walk in, they think your house looks clean. They will have no idea that your laundry isnt folded, or that your shower needs scrubbing and so on. If you're going to decorate make sure you do that too. And if you have extra time before everyone gets there, put your feet up after all that hard work! lol. And you can always fold the laundry tomorrow it's not goin anywhere and it won't hurt anything to wait one more day. Hope I helped!!

I would use the same suggestions as for any ceramic tile.
I would begin with a bleach solution and let it sit no longer than five minutes according to the professionals. Clean that and then try liquid cleansers on any remaining stain. Try a paste made from powdered cleanser and very hot water and let it sit for a while.
I would also try the special cleanser made for ceramic stove tops - you can buy them at most hardware stores. Use the scrubbers specially designed for ceramic stoves for this work - no need to cause any more scratches than are already there. You may want to repeat the steps a few times if there is a lot of stain but these methods should do the trick.
Here are a couple of sites with good information. Best of luck with it.

Since the grout is pretty bad, you might need to use bleach. Make a strong solution, maybe a cup of bleach to a quart of water. Add in some laundry detergent to help get rid of dirt and grease. (Some dish soaps are not supposed to be mixed with bleach.)
Apply a generous amount of the bleach solution and let it sit. it needs to stay wet in order to work. Don't start scrubbing right away; you'll just be creating more work for yourself.
If you want to try a milder cleaner first, then I suggest Oxyclean (after cleaning with 409 to get rid of basic dirt. Make a paste of Oxyclean and a little water and apply it to the grout. Let it sit till it's dry. Then you can sweep up the grains with a dustpan and brush and rinse off the residue.

I used 3 caps of bleach to a full bottle of water an sprayed it on my counter tops an left it for ten minutes ,I was scared to allow any more time because didn't want my color to lift ,but it cleaned an sterilized it and got all dirt grime an such out . I do this about once a month to my counters ,bath tub ,and anything else that I feel needs to be sterile and clean .

Orange Hand Cleaner will clean the grease and grime off the tiles. Rinse, let dry, then you may want to consider regrouting the tiles (if you can't afford to replace the countertops at the present).
