BEST: Being a father to my two sons.

WORST: Tackling my junior high football coach after he called me a wuss for tackling a kid much littler than me; even though I told him I would cream the kid before he made me do it.

He never called me a wuss again though.

This guy is a school principal now.

In the days of corporal punishment (about 1950), I received 36 leather slaps on the hand for continuing to misspell a Gaelic word at school. I shall never forget the word or the spelling: Seibhir - rich. I could not close my hands for over a week and from what I know now, the teacher could have been charged with Actual Bodily Harm. The next was the continuous beatings I used to get for not knowing, above all, Religious Knowledge. I was beaten black and blue by a Christian Brother back in Ireland.
