I'm curious to know; is there an investment and how would I go about doing this business since I can't drive at the moment (but I do take public transportation).

Don't bother you would be better off getting a job at McDonald's or something, anything else other than Avon. I tried to do it before and found out you have to pay out of your own pocket to buy the starter kit and the order forms and the catalogs and bags for the peoples orders probably more things that i can't recall right now. When I changed my mind about doing Avon the rep lady was not too happy and e-mailed me and threatened me by saying she slipped on ice and fell when she left my home..insinuating suing me! My sidewalks as well as my porch were salted and ice free and not to mention I watched her arrive and leave through my front window. When I e-mailed her writing that I would call my mailman as a witness as to the iciness of my walk and porch since he did deliver my mail before she arrived and he had no problems and told her the only reason she came up with these fake accusations were that she wouldn't benefit from me becoming a Avon rep under her name!..needless to say she never bothered me again. So I think all around Avon's a terrible place to work for unless your Salma Hayek. You won't make enough money and it's too much hassle!! Good luck!!

there is a small investment, but the last i heard you did't have to have money up front,thety would take it from you orders. check out there website
