Technically, no. The Raiders were originally supposed to be the Minnesota AFL team in 1960. But, the NFL already had a connection to the Twin Cities and awarded Minnesota a franchise...forcing the new AFL team to find elsewhere to play. They ended up in Oakland.
No roster had been put together though. They were a team on paper only.
And of course they were in LA in the late 80s and 90s

The Raiders started out in Oakland, and then they moved to Los Angeles, and then they moved back to Oakland. The Raiders have great tradition with a lot of great teams, especially with John Madden coaching and Kenny Stabler at qb. Stabler was a great qb for the Raiders. Probably the best they will ever have.

No. For a few years the Raiders were in L.A. Thank God they had moved back. The history in Oakland will give them more meaning if the rookies look up that history and the passion the coaches had and still have there. I thought they couldn't play well in L.A. due to the poor fan turn out. Too many football teams too close together there.

No. They started in Oakland, but moved to Los Angeles for several years in the 1980's and 90's. But they returned to Oakland afterward.

Al Davis moved the team to L.A. for 13 seasons then when L.A. wouldn't build a new stadium he moved back to Oakland. I think you can see loser written all over Al's face.
