There is no right time to do anything really. If the both of you are feeling it, then that's lets you know it should go down. There are no rules saying you have to wait X amount of time before you sleep with someone (unless you want to get Biblical and go with the whole waiting til you're married thing). Every person and relationship is going to be different. I've been in a relationship where we never got around to having sex because we both weren't feeling it, and I've been in another where just after a month or so it was there and we acted on it. So if you're both comfortable I'd say you're long overdue!

Well, that's a highly personal question as to how long should you wait. By now, you know each other and the good thing is that you know you have genuine feelings for each other and that your relationship isn't just about sex. That's a great start!

The next step is to be sure the two of you talk about birth control and disease protection, and that you are both ready to take on prevention BEFORE having sex. Go to the local clinic, your family doctor and/or Planned Parenthood to explore your options. Your best bet is to go on the pill (you need to be on it a week before trusting it), AND use condoms.

You also have to discuss the what if's, because while the odds are low you'd get pregnant if you are using both the pill and condoms, it can still happen. Make sure you are in total agreement on what you would do if that happened.

If you can't have these discussions yet, you aren't ready. If you think it is okay to have sex and not use protection every single time, you are not ready.

Once those issues are resolved, then the two of you will need to decide if it is time.

I will add that if you are under 16, it is still too early no matter what. There are so many possible hazzards, including to your heart, that sex before then is just too young. Odds are that if I explained that in depth, you still wouldn't get it. So just trust me on this one, there is no good reason to start sex so young, and lots of bad ones.

Better to grow up more first, and enjoy the innocence and pleasures of youth more, before you engage in adult behaviors that carry significant consequences. You will be an adult forever, and a child for just a very short time. Enjoy it! You'll miss it later.

well, it seems that you already jumped into each other. Now it is too late to ask this kind of question. However, it seems you feel sort of guilty and this is not good. Guilty takes no where. I would say the best time to do it is when you accept it in your heart, when you don't blame yourlsef, or him for having sex and when you are responsible for your acts. The fact that you ask this question shows that you are not secure about doing it. Why don't you take a break and have a talk with him or even better: to your heart and try to find the answer that you now ask us to provide. When you don't feel the need to ask this question anymore it is because you already found the answers and feel safe about your own attitudes. However, please, remember something: sex is great, sex is wonderful, but it is good for nothing if you guys don't know each other again. It is as if you were starting backwards, understand? Even though it might be GREAT, it might also cause you a feeling of emptiness after you do it.
GOOD LUCK!
A big hug from Brazil.

It depends on how old you are. Because 6 months is a good enough time when you're mature enough. And if you to really love each other, and have already set out some strict guidelines, I don't see what you're waiting for. Were you brought up in a religious home? If so, you're probably thinking of waiting till you get married right? Well, I didn't wait regretably. So think long and hard before you make your decision.

When you've both invested in birth control, being condoms as well as bc pills. Then if you can both trust each other completely. If this is your first time for yourself then I would do more soul searching then he would. Being a woman it's a little more sentimental for your first. There's no going backwards and you need to look at him and think, if you are not with him in the future would he be someone you weren't ashamed to have lost your virginity to? Of course you're going to be in the mood when you're around each other, that's only normal. There's no set time for a relationship only for each individuals feelings on the it.

You know you're ready when you don't have to ask this question. Meaning, you'll feel it in your heart... no one else can feel it for you.
