A good question but you're barking up the wrong tree. Government and Business have formed an alliance a long time ago. J.P. Morgan, the banker had a controlling interest in many of the largest companies at the turn of the century and used bank assets to make loans to the U.S. Government while at the same time generate more profits for his banking empire at the same time furthering the international agenda of the Government. It was a partnership made in heaven.
The same dynamic exists today.
Big business is really the one with the power who exerts the control over the government, not vica-versa.

Gov't should've a 'watch-dog' role...just enough involvement to ensure *free* production of ideas/products; ensure basic rights of citizens, in general; employees, in particular.

Gov't have to be balanced and make sure it doesn't enroach on the basic right of 'pursuit of property' (this was the original language/meaning of the words 'pursuit of happiness'
