I hurt my knee and have been resting it for a week. I'm going mad sitting around all day but my knee is still sore. Does anyone know how long I should wait before going back to using it as normal?

Hi, Poor you I know just how you feel, it really depends on what you have done. I thought I had just twisted my knee, but it just did'nt stop hurting. A few weeks later I went to my doc who sent me for an xray. turned out i'd torn the cartilage and I had to have an op. I WAS STUNNED. any way get yourself to xray and let them look inside its the only way.
Pashka.

A few years ago, I fell on a gravel road while backpacking and got a deep gash in my knee requiring stitches. It took a few weeks to heal completely. Don't just sit around, yes, you need rest, but walk on it every now and then. The best answer would come from a doctor though.

it really just depends on the injury, i would suggest asking your doctor. have u considered getting cruches or a wheelchair until your knee heals? that way u don't have 2 sit sround all day and not b as bored! good luck and i hope your knee feels better :)

I would have a doctor look at it. Healing time depends on what kind of injury it was. Good luck.

I myself am on antidepressants, sometimes it doesnt go away on its own, but if you need someone to talk to, please do it. Talking to people, friends, anyone that you trust and being open is really important. The bad things will go away and especially the teenage depression, it is also a hormonal thing too. Just know if you need a friend or dont know where to go that I am a email away!!

If it isn't completely better in 10 days then you did some serious damage and need to see an orthopedist.
