Pretty soon I am turning 16. My parents are buying me a new car. It's not going to be a BMW or anything, but still it's going to be a nice car. We are think Saturn Ion or something like that...

Anyway...

Since I'm getting a car I don't want my party to be 'too' expensive. My parents both have good jobs so money 'isn't' a problem, but I will feel bad if I spend too much.

So what is a sort of in-expensive thing I can do?

I'm inviting maybe 20 some people to it.

I live in a pretty big house, but I don't know if I want 20 people in it.

My mom and I are thinking of doing a pool at a hotel, but I don't know if I want to do that...

Any ideas etc. please tell!

Also tell me if there are things that I shouldn't do!

Awesome thanks!

first of all, if your a REALLY sweet 16 you would tell your parents that you wish to save up for your own car! regardless congrats! not many kids get new cars these days!

as for a party? i would just have a theme based party and have it at your home. they can be REAL fun as you would play games according to the theme.

fun themes are:
1920's through 40's (50's, 60's and 70's are way overdone)

have them dress up for that decade, have a prize for 1st, runner up.

download music from the era and watch a movie dictacting the era and then have a question and answer trivia like game from the movie.

take group pictures and have them made in black and white....

play games from that era......sounds silly i know, but you'd be surprised at how hard some of the games played in those earlier era's are!

have fun!
