Go to www.collegeboard.com and look up NYU. I got 2 perfect scores in math and reading, but my writing score was only 720, for a total of 2320. I only read this SAT guide, and that is how I got such high scores:

I recommend this guide to anyone seeking to get a higher score to get into a first choice college.

If you look at the NYU website, they tell what the average scores were for kids accepted in the last class. NYU is a fairly tough school to get in to, so you probably are going to need at least middle to high 600s, I bet.

Probably all the schools you are thinking about have "Information for Prospective Students" on their websites. I am just about to finish the college application process with my 3rd son. It has been very stressful even though he is a great student and has lots of excellent ECs. We visited a bunch of schools, including NYU - he decided not to apply there because it is too urban and doesn't really have a campus. We're not from NYC so he thought it would be too much of a change.... Good luck with your applications, and keep your sense of humor!!!!
