Problem:
Because of a new health center in a town, the cases of influenza are 25 percent fewer. If the town usually has 300 cases per month, how many cases should you expect during the next month?

25 % x 300 = 75. that means there's 75 less cases.

if ur still confused-- 25% = 1/4 or 0.25

multiply by 300

then you get 75

2.

you subtract 300 by 75 since it's 25 percent less and you get 225 as your final answer.

If you usually have 300 cases per month and there will be a 25% decrease you take 300 x .25 and you get 75. You then subtract 75 from your original number 300, and you get 225. There will be around 225 cases of influenza next month.

100% = 300
reduction of 25% = 100% - 25% =75%
75% = 300 x 75 divide by 100 = 225
