Hire a highly skilled advertising agency. There is so much information and research done in this area that it is rarely a good idea to just "wing it" and do it on your own. This especially applies when there is a language difference.
If you will not hire a good ad agency, then at minimum:
Get a literate native speaker of the desired language to help, then really listen to the advice they give.
So many awkward errors are made in advertising by those who may have studied a language ( and maybe done well in their studies) but do not have all the full knowledge of a native speaker, that I suspect it is highly advisable to pay that native speaker well.
Clear and direct advertising specifically targeted to the potential buyers of your product are the most likely to result in positive sales. Ads must have some style, be visually appealing , attractive, and some type of humor appropriate to the market is good. Some go for the highly offensive ads, with the thinking that at least they will be memorable, but I think that is not a good long term strategy. I personally avoid buying products that use this kind of advertising.

Couple of things you need to know before you hit the market.
1) Quality of your product to the consumer
2) Competitors in the market
3) Value your product offers to the consumer
4) What makes consumer choose your product
5) What can shift consumer to stick to your product as compared to the competitors.
If you have answers for these then you need to create a brand and bring brand awareness through advertising. The theme of your advertising should also focus to instill your objectives to the consumer that shall bring in the brand recall and recurring sales.

Well, if you get the word out about your subject by advertsing people will find you ... Free methods/low cost to start with are all good assuming you have a website (online advertising)...
