People learn to talk from what they hear as babies/toddlers, as well as later in life. For example if you were to go to Australia and live there for a number of years, you would probably get some of the Australian 'drawl', or accent, in your voice. You probably wouldn't notice it yourself but those who knew you would. It's the same when you're trying to loose weight. You don't notice it but see someone who hasn't seen you for a while and they will say, haven't you lost a lot of weight! It's the same principle. :)

It's passed down from each generation. As a child you repeat what you hear. You have the same "accent" as your family and friends that surround you. This is the case anywhere else.

Yessss. You know, you can go on vacation for a week and pick up an accent? Every location has a different way of speaking, and people pick it up real easy.

Because of the different languages in the world. Did you notice that Spanish frequently uses the sound "eh"? And French uses "oo"? People from France, for example, would pronounce things in English differently.

You learn to speak by hearing others. You will naturally pick up their inflections and pronounciations. It's why deaf people sound a bit strange when they talk they (obviousl) haven't heard any accents
