I tried to clean out my computer, but accidentally deleted something important. Now, I can't set my display settings above 640x480 and 16 colors. I tried updating the BIOS, but it did nothing for my problem. Can someone please help?

Easy. Yes.
Go to "Control Panel"
Next, "Performance Maintenance."
Then, "System Restore."
Select a previous time when there was no problems from the calendar.
Shut it down
Restart
Finished with no problem!
Good Luck.

DOn't try changing the BIOS settings coz it will just make it worst, plus if it is on 640x480 the colors of your display are all pale... I mean not in true colors (256 colors mode) 2 things you should do.
1) right click on the desktop click properties - settings- then there is this option screen area drag it until it goes to 1024x768.
or
2) re-install your video driver

Try two things, firstly try to reinstall your Graphics driver if that does not help, use system restore, as the last option, reinstall xp without formatting your HDD.

If you have windows xp you can go back and restore the settings to a date and time prior to when you made the changes. Follow this link info.....
