LOVE........ LOVE, REALLY DIDNT WANT TO KNOW, but I will add, its a lot easier to get them pills over here, just walk into a doctors, make an appointment two days later you got 6 months worth, you take em for 3 weeks and then 1 week off, then 3 weeks on 1 week off.........and so on, But

Your period has little to do with getting birth control pills...well apart from the fact that you have to be having a period to get them. If you are wanting the pills because of your period or because you are sexually active, see a doctor or go to your local health department.

Most girls with an unreliable cycle, heavy periods or periods that last longer than a week, or really bad PMS use birth control to even themselves out.
Ask a doctor if they would advise putting you on birth control.

You can get birth control pills for it no matter what.
Seasonale for instance, minimizes your period to 4 times a year.
Insurance coverage for it is another story....
If you have too much pain, too much bleeding, irregular periods, or PCOS, then perhaps insurance will cover it.

You have to go to the clinic when your cycle start then they give you some pills for you to take on the last day on your period. And the same for the shot.
