However, if you choose a best answer to each question before asking a new question, you could get that up to I think 3235 (NOT 3237; you have to pay the five points before you can get the three points back, so once you're down to 4 points or less you can no longer ask questions, even if you choose a best answer).
Of course, if no best answer is chosen by voters and you don't choose a best answer, you could ask as many as you want, you just couldn't have more than 1294 at any one time.

6,474/5= 1,294.8
if you get 1 more point you can ask
