i was sitting at a restaurant with my bf having dinner. it was a cute little restaurant in front of the acropolis with the table a little inclined between the two of us since the little street was up hill. while we were having our desert my bf moved back to see water dripping from the table on to his pants. he looked at the table and it was dripping as if we had spilled water. he looked at me and the glass of water and bottle, nothing had knocked over. we looked at each other in awe and began to examin. the water was coming from under my dish, and it was a LOT, like a glass full of water, but NOTHING had spilled.

we couldnt believe what on earth had happened. we tested and spilled a little on the table but noticed the water remained there on top of the table paper mat as it had a plastic covering under the paper mat, the other water instead had come from UNDER the paper pat between plastic covering and paper mat.

what on earth had happened???????

it was something unexplainable...

does this kind of relate to my previous question on the water dripping all over greece?

i kept thinking, being in front the acropolis, thousands of years old...incredible history...was this some type spiritual prank? some wild ghost coming back thousands of years decided to play a little prank on some typical american tourists??

i dont know, but it was wierd!

You mentioned you were eating desert during this incident. Well, I used to work as a server and when we served deserts, the plates were kept in the freezer to chill and sometimes ice would form on the bottom of the plate if it had been placed in the freezer straight from the dishwasher. It is not unusual to see quite a bit of water under the plate after it had been removed from the table due to the melting of the ice. That is my assumption of what happened.

Sounds like it could be condensation. If it was hot there, and the drinks were cool, moisture from the air condensed on the outsides of the dishes, and possibly on the table itself.

I had something similar happen on an airplane. I thought the bottle of water I stuck in the pocket in front of me must have leaked, but the leaking was coming from the air thingie above me. It was a really hot day and the air conditioning in the plane must have pulled out all the moisuture and put it on me!

I recall that once a young boy, having wetted himself, spilled a glass of water on himself, thus avoiding the embarrassment of the situation. But, I'm sure this has no relationship to your situation.
