17 x 60 = total second in 17 min (1020) [makes final conversion easier]
1020(.85) = x (time reduction)
1020 - x = total time now to do download
turn total time in seconds back into minutes and seconds (e.g., if you get 120 sec, that's 2 min)
Now get out your calculator and figure out the values!
(remember, decimal points in the final value will only represent fractions of a minute. .55 does not represent 55 seconds)

1) 17 mins = 17 x 60 seconds = 1020 seconds
2) total time = 100%
3) reduction = 85%
4 ) new time = 100% - 85% = 15%
5) 1020 x 15 divide by 100 = 153 seconds =
2 mins 33 seconds
