It was very hard for my family to accept some my bf who obviously isn't black and a lot of my male members of my family are very opposed to his presence. My grandma was saying ,"Why do you always mess with those Spainsh boys, don't you know there is a nice boy at chruch I picked out for you. He's perfect, he's a honor student he has a job, he has always followed the law, and he's very sweet." I told her that he was very boring and we didn't have much in common. My mom accepts my bf, she adores him.

I can SO relate to you. I'm black and I feel like I am under pressure by most of my family to marry someone black too. But the more time passes the more I realize the less likely it is that I will. Simply because I am attracted to guys of all races among other reasons. I'm looking for personality and a connection, not same skin color.

A family normally is opposed to anything they feel may not be the best for their kids. Expect to get input from all who care and they do not hold back their punches. Never be swayed by color as it is not relevant as human life is precious and the life you want may one day bring a new precious life that does not have to be treated the same as their parents may have been. Go With The Flow.

plenty come from undesirable backgrounds who were raised with out 2 moms and dads. those adult men (at times, no longer all) have a tendency to be deadbeat fathers and undesirable friends. a majority of those women persons opt for those undesirable Black adult men, like thugs to illustrate, then blame all Black adult men. There are great black adult men who want and crave a kin structure. those women persons want to seem for sturdy ones and go away the thugs on my own/

At least half of mine is... I'm single right now but I asked my family how would they feel if I were to interracially date. Half my family was like "love is love, whatever makes you happy." and the other half blew up in my face about it. It really did suck but my mom was cool about it and she's the only one who's opinion I cared about. Even if she didn't like it, it's still my choice and I'd choose to be happy.

I've been called a "sell out", but oh well, when I got with my b\f, who is black, his family accepted me more than my dads side of the family, but my mom is married to my b\f's first cousin, I thinks my dads racism turned me and my mom that way.

guess it boils down to are you gonna listen to family/peer pressure or your heart - or it that the same thing...

I've dated (short term - for 3 months) and almost another and there were no men on(their) her side of the family to object, In both times, it was her mom that objected.! Neither told me why their mom objected, both just told me, that she did object to us!!
and ya know what, they both broke up with me right after their mom told me (privately) how wonderful i was.!!!

Oh, one mom told me she objected to us because: " it was because of what people would say!!!!"

(No one on my side except my daughter and Interracial Relationships are ok with her. Both met and liked my daughter.)

So, I'm alone now.

I don't think so, my wife's parents took it pretty well the first time they saw me. Of course they were a little bit shocked, but who wouldn't be.
