Third poster understood. obviously, the monster was not alive but these stories are inspired by actual events.

The early Hebrew story of the 'golem' inspired the Mary Shelly story 'Frankenstein'. Everything written by humans is at least loosely based on reality, because we only exist in reality. All of our thoughts generate from what we see and experience, so everything is therefore based likewise.

The Frankenstein monster was created out of the imagination of Mary Shelly. It was the result of a competition between her and and two other well known writers. The book "In Search of Frankenstein" gives a good account of that competition and other background information on Shelly. It's real Good reading.

Strangely, it may have been. There was an Austrian doctor that tried to make a human. I doubt if Shelly had ever heard of him tho. Golem may have influenced Shelly because it was an old tale when she wrote "Frankenstien".

Of course he was real. His real name is Victor Von Sprecklestein. He was just an every day dude who happened to be born with a squar-ish head. This caused him to be teased mercilessly. He was a sad and pathetic soul, bless his heart. He and quasimoto eventually found each other and become best of friends.
