No we aren't safer.

Actually we are in more danger because of the enormous amount of terrorists Bush has created by invading and turning Iraq upside down. He is also agitating terrorism with his bullying of Iran.

The problem with his war on terror is that it will never really be a war that you can declare victory or not. It is a war on an ideology and fighting it by force is the wrong way to beat it. Force only re-enforces their reasons to hate and hurt us.

New York certainly isn't. Perhaps all of those Dept. of Homeland Security funds that have been given as pork barrel to Wyoming to buy new dump trucks or such have made America safer--but the people of New York & Washington. . .the two biggest targets do not feel safer.

Absolutely. Just the better screening at the airport makes us safer. Needing a passport to go outside the country makes us safer. There have been a lot of things implemented that all of us aren't necessarily aware of that make us safer.

For example, long haul truck drivers are trained to notice things that seem out of place, like a rental truck parked outside a public building at night, and call it in.

Yes! Without a doubt!

Of course one has to make certain sacrifices and suffer some inconveniences but unlike the Far Left Wing ACLU Adoring Liberal Democrats, most of us are MORE than willing to fore go certain liberties to ensure these mad dog Muslim Homicide bombers and Islamic Terrorists are stopped "before" the fact!

Poll after poll shows overwhelmingly of late that, the American public would no more trust Far Left Wing Liberal Democrats with National Security than they would trust them to represent any other interests other than, Gays, Lesbians and ACLU Bash America radicals!

You have to be joking. Our borders are wide open to whoever or whatever wants to come on in.

Bush has alienated numerous countries that were once our allies.

He is bankrupting our country to the tune of billions and billions of dollars.

We are just a line in the sand away from war with Iraq and North Korea, because of someones big mouth. Diplomacy, duh, whats that?

So to answer your question, "You have got to be kidding".

It's about the same. 5 years is not that long to "beef up" security technologically. Are we more aware? Probably not. More paranoid? Yeah.

Only a tiny bit, and that's more because of heightened awareness on the part of people rather than any actual security enforcement.
