I'm leaning toward murder. If you look at the tapes from the hotel the chauffer, Henri Paul, does not look drunk . He stood straight, walked straight while talking to Diana and Dodi. Diana was an intelligent woman (except for marrying Chuck and not wearing her seat belt), she would have not gotten into a car with a drunk driver. Give her some credit. There was paint on the back of the car , it's source has never been found. That is very suspicious. I don't think the Royal family was directly envolved, rather the men in the gray suits who run the family and the palace. The family does not go to the bathroom without their permission.

I think she was murdered, and the royal family is behind it. Actually, there are lots of conspiracy theories regarding Princess Diana's death, some people said that even Diana knew that she was going to die in an "accident" kind of thing in order to silence her and stop her for bringing another scandal to the Windsor family. There are so much anomalies and mysteries that revolves around how the car crash(or whatever) happened so the accident thing is just so questionable.

She was murdered. The Royals didn't want her to move on with someone else and have a new life. Shame they didn't feel that way about Charles new dog, Camilla. The Queen was behind her being killed. Was afraid Diana would tell the public how they all really are. That Royal family wrecked a lot of marriages, Fergie's too.

On the surface, it would seem to be an accident, because the driver was very drunk. But people persist in thinking there was a conspiracy. If it was a conspiracy, I believe the royal courtiers were behind it, not the Queen, or Charles, but these mean, petty, vicious administrators who run Buckingham Palace. From what I've read, they are behind most of the problems which beset Fergie, Diana, and who knows who else.

I do think it was murder, and i ask myself how come as she wasso poular and in the news and so much trouble going on between her and the royal family, why was not the area roped of and foreensic teams not round there like honey round a bees nest?? If it had been any other related royal, would it have been cleaned away as fast, i think not. Someone out there knows the truth and i hope some day they are big enough and brave enough to come forwared and tell the world.

It was an accident. Her driver was drunk and was speeding and lost control of the car, simple as. It's interesting to note that the one person in the car who wore a seatbelt survived the crash - it's Diana's own fault she didn't bother to put hers on.

I don't know if she was murdered or if it were the result of negligence, or just a tragic accident. All I know is that the British are diminished of a beautiful Light when she died. She was truly a beautiful person, who lived a tragic life and suffered a tragic death. I hope her sons can move past it and have good lives and be the kind of men their mother would want them to be.

I lean towards the conspiracy theory, that somebody in the royal family had her killed. Watched her and her entourage, knew when the driver would be drunk, and paid the papparazi to chase them. This is pure speculative though. I think the motive was that she was highly popular, taking away from the royality, Charles could be king if she was dead, and that she may have been an embarrassing liability to the royal family (telling secrets and such.) That would be enough to at least watch her and seize on an opportunity.

It was an accident and the primary one at fault was Henri Paul, the chauffeur. He was drunk. I read one study that said that, if Diana had been wearing a seat belt that night, she most likely would have survived. She was sitting directly behind the bodyguard who was wearing a seat belt and did survive the crash.

It had to be an accident because the driver was going to fast and lost control of the steering wheel, while tying to get away from the press that were chasing them on motor bikes etc.
It seems that the driver did nearly hit one bike, but pulled the car away at the last minute from hitting it, on doing so caused the car to crash into the barriers because of the speed they were traveling at the time.
