you should at least wait 18mouths so your body can heal and prepare for a second child but personally I think at least two years because they are close in age but not that close were your changing two kids in diapers. Good luck

Immediately.
If the gap is a year between the first and the second:
- Both have each other as playmates.
- No time to spoil the first born and deprive the second.
- They have closer "buddy system".
- Hand-me downs are easier passed.
Disadvantages:
- Never saw any between my eldest (son) and second (daughter). Daughter was conceived within when my son was 7 months.

My brother and his wife had seven kids. They felt that the first and the second should be around a year apart that way they would be more compatible growing up. So when she became pregnant again with the third, the fourth was a year later etc.
That is not to say you should go for that many, smile.

I don't really know. I would say when you feel ready for another child. My mom had my 2 sisters a yr. apart, then I was around 9 yrs. later. And my son and daughter have 10 yrs. between them. Wasn't really planning it this way but that's just how it happened. At times it's a good thing because my daughter is crazy over her little brother, and she likes to help out a lot with him.

i have 2 children my son will be 6 in October and my daughter will be 2 December 30th so i have a pretty good gap in between I think good because right now my oldest is able to understand and kind of help out with his sister but some people think if i had them closer together they would be closer but i beg to differ because they get along very well

I think it's good to give kids a little space--for their own autonomy and for your sanity. I think 3-4 years is ideal.

a year is perfectly fine if you have them too far apart they won't ever play together or have anything in common
