Automatic dishwasher for everything ...pots, pans, broilers, dishes, glassware, etc. I do not pre-rinse anything!!! I use Cascade Complete powder and Jet dry with no heat dry. My machine is an 8 year old bottom of the line Whirlpool portable . I
have my water heater set at 140 degrees! Everything comes out clean and shiny!

I even put my good china and crystal in the machine. I do use the short cycle and no heat dry for these items. Have never ever had a problem with breakage or fading of gold trim.

My motto is, "If it can't go in the dishwasher, I don't want it".

By the way...the average dishwasher cannot sanitize dishes. The water can't get hot enough. Even if this were possible, the minute you open the door and start to unload the dishes, they would no longer be sanitized!

I have been using the automatic dishwasher. When I would do dishes by hand that is all I felt I did was wash dishes, and it got old quick. I would not have time to do other things. I do not like to leave dishes in the sink because it looks cluttered and the more it piles up the more I would not want to do them.

I prefer a machine - but don't always have access to one - we travel for a living and different places have different options, which are not always mine to make! Why? I was raised w/ a dishwasher from the time I could reach inside (top load). This way you don't have to do dishes every day, just rinse, put into machine and run when full

I wash by hand. the only time I use the dishwasher is when I have guests.. ALSO.... if I do not have guests for a long time, I run the dishwasher once a month.. as it should be done to keep it in use and to make sure that nothing has hardened in the drain pipes from the dishwasher..

Hand I do not have dishwasher. Ughhh wish I did. If so I would use it. I do dishes about 4 times a day since I have children.

Dishwasher!!!!

The person who feels hand washing is more santary dos not understand the process. Dishwashers use very hot water and their detergent contains bleach-like substances. Using a dishwasher is the single most effective way to make a typical kitchen more sanitary.

By hand.

We live in an old house with a shallow well and septic system, so a dishwasher uses too much water.

We have never owned a dishwasher .... other than the two-legged ones .... called children and husband!!

Depends on how many dishes I've used and need to wash.

Mostly by hand, you use less water and we don't have that many dishes.

But when we have the whole family over we use the machine to save time.
