Absolutely not! I know how I'd feel if someone wanted to read my journal. It's an intensely personal, private item that should be respected. If you're truly a friend, you'll allow them the courtesy of affording them some privacy.
Some of the items that get written in journals are a persons way of keeping their mind from doing a mental loop and when they sit down to write, they're not consciously thinking of what it is they're writing. I don't even read what it is I've written until a month or two down the line. Some of the things that come out are things I wasn't even aware I was thinking of but had caused me some type of angst. Some of them are intensely personal and not something I would necessarily share with another individual.

No way. A mature person shows respect and acts in ways that build trust. It would just be wrong to read your friend's journal without their permission.

Leave it, even if your friend has said anything about you or anyone else in it, that's their private venting tool. Also you could think of it this way there's stuff in it that is probably better left un-said, and could just make things worse if you were to read them. Like they say what you dont know wont hurt you.

No. The magic word being private. Would you want her or anyone else to read your most private thoughts. You should always have respect for other peoples stuff and wishes.

Nope, I would not. To begin with, if he wanted what's in it known, he'd reveal it himself, otherwise it's none of my business. And, second, when I was very young I had a diary in which I kept my innermost thoughts, insignificant nonsense to adult no doubt, but I came in one afternoon and my mother had found it and was having a good laugh over it. I've never quite forgiven her for that, and I wouldn't jeopardized a friendship in that manner.

I'm 20 now and there's no way I would, but if I was 16 I would never be able to resist that.
