Since the US is generally on a 4.0 scale, multiply your GPA times .4 for the US equivalent.

.4 X 6.99 = Your US GPA (Just under a C, which is 70%)

That comes out to a 69.9 or if you want a letter grade to go with it, a D+ that's not good. When I was in college, anything below a 70 was an F, so be glad the times and grading scales have changed. Just another sign of the erosion of quality in American education.

So, the word "percent" means "per hundred."

In other words, for every one hundred points, how many would you have.

If you have 6.9 points out of a possible 10, how many points would you have out of 100. Since 100 is ten times ten, then if you multiply 6.9 time ten, that will tell you the answer.
