Wondering if any real estate agents out there can let me know where to start. I don't have any certifications for real estate, but am interested in getting started. Is a degree needed first, or are there places that will hire and train?

You can become a real estated agent without a degree, but you wouldn't move very fast. Most companies won't hire someone without a degree, and if you go out on your own, things will be hard. You need formal training. The best thing yuou can do would be to go to college and major in Business with a focus in real estate. You can also be hired on by a company that will send you to reas estate school, which is not college, but it works. What experience you'll need depends on the company. You can also put yourself through real estate school.

The first thing you need to do is check into how much it costs to be an agent. There are lots of fees and dues that you have to pay every year and also monthly things you have to pay on like your supra key, and advertisement, and the cost of gas! They say it takes a new agent about 2 years to really get going. If you are your only source of income, you might try it part time but don't quit your day job!
Good luck!

Call some of the larger real estate companies in your area, a lot of them offer classes to help new people get started, of course they will want you to work for them....
