If you're thinking of an IUD (intrauterine device) that may be it. They have them now that release a hormone and reduce or even sometimes eliminate periods, or just spread them out further. BE WARNED though: IUD's are designed to knock off an emplanted embryo before it develops too far, but you can technically get pregnant while on them and it causes an abortion. You can also stay pregnant and have complications if you have an IUD in, and since they knock your periods off balance you wouldn't know if you were pregnant until pretty far into the pregnancy. While these cases can be rare, they can happen. If this is important to you I would consider another form of birth control. There's a pill now called seasonale (?) that has 3 months of active pills, so you only get 4 periods a year. That might be a better alternative.

It'll be an IUD, more commonly known as the coil. It doesn't necessarily 'trick' your body into beilieving you are pregnant though, it a) stops an egg being implanted and b) contains progesterone which is the hormone used in the contraeceptive injection which is what may stop your periods - there are pro's and con's to many methods of contraception so find the one that is most suitable for you

The thing you are thinking about is an IUD (intra uterine device). Many women on it stop having their periods, some do not. Most doctors refuse to give one to a women who is not married, is still a teenager/young adult, or has not had a child. There are a few solid reasons for this the doctor can explain to you. There are two types of IUDs, copper which uses no hormones and those which release tiny amounts of hormones. I have provided a few links below on IUDs.

If you keep telling your body your pregnant, it will start to believe it and it will starts to act like your pregnant eg a bump will appear cravings etc however the bump will be full of fluid and its dangerous to do so, i read it in a magazine once that it happened to someone i was like creepy but i just suggest you go on the pill (mircogynon) because that means you can control your periods, its not healthy to take the injection for them to stop all together .

I dont think its a good idea to "trick" your body into making you not have periods. I don't know what you're talking about, but the Depo Provera shot will stop your periods after a month or two.
I take the pill..having no period is freaky.

It's called an IUD, they can last between 3-5 years depending on the type of metal you choose to use. It is shaped like a T and placed into your uteris.

Your body stop menstruating if you are;
anorexic.
pregnant already,
taking an injection pill,
on seriously hard drugs,
if you do not take a break from taking your tablet pill,
last but not least if you are going through the menopause!
None of the above are advisable purely as a method to stop your menstrual cycle.
