to come out right for a hormone test? they said i had to be off it to get rid of any effects of the hormone pill (contraceptive) to show up in the test. i have been diagnosed with depression and coz ive always had problem with periods and puberty, i guess it could be hormone imbalance. the doc said it cud be too but they say coz im on the pill, results wont show right. i want to prove them its not depression coz i dont want to be on those anti depressants all my life. i want it sorted and now! why should i wait and make my self anymore miserable? any ideas how long to come off pill to show right results? thanx and sorry for the essay.

it can take up to 6 months for the pill to come out of your body i would see Dr for other options tell him you want results good luck

It takes anything from one to three months for your body to rid itself of the extra hormones.
That's how long it took for me to get pregnant anyway!
As for the depression, there are varying strains ranging from, having a down spell, to being clinically depressed and needing hospital treatment for it.
It's normal for most people to undergo some degree of depression.
You don't have to take the medication if you don't want.
Maybe some counselling would be more beneficial to you instead?

It takes a month for your body to take over after being controlled by the pills.

you will not necessarily have to be on antidepressants all your life i was on them for just 6 months and they turned my life around, that was 10 years ago and iv'e been happy ever since just do what the doctors advise you, it could help.

i think its about 7 days for the pill to get out of your system but the doctor should be able to tell you if you ask him/her
