♥I'm in Florida. There was just a 5.8 earthquake in the middle of the gulf at about 11am Eastern time, the first earthquake felt in Florida in about 140 years. I grew up in Washington State, so I know quite a bit about earthquakes, and everyone is freaking out down here. Interesting to me, what are your thoughts?♥

I think that's because it is not a common occurence there (you said it was the first earthquake in about 140 years). You can't blame people for freaking out because of something that seems so frightening and yet so unfamiliar to them.

I grew up in San Francisco, and now live in vegas. We have tremors here from the surrounding areas, and I can feel them but not many other people can. I guess the others are really not use to them and are freaking out cause they think the big one might be coming. I remember a few years back when there was a big earthquake in Joshua Tree, down in Southern California. It was huge and we could feel it here, including the aftershocks. The people here were running around like it was the beginning of the end of the world.

The climate and structure of the planet is changing...and this is a fact and not a speculation.I live in Romania and in 2005 here was the biggest flod in houndreds of years.Things apparently change in the world and it is more than preferable to be prepared for anything.
No freaking down - keep well informed about the currecnt status of the world and get some survival courses/books/ information.
The world will change.

There are no earthquakes where I come from, so I am completely indifferent to and uninterested in an earthquake in the Gulf of Mexico.

I'm living in Los Angeles and was in Northridge during that earthquake.
California and Alaska get's majority of the earthquakes, but they could and can happen anywhere in the US.

That's nothing...here we have earthquakes all the time...usually they're less than 4 but we've had 7 and 8R, I have no idea why I'm still alive.
