Don't worry. you've just got a big dose of stage fright. It's a scary time going somewhere new. I have just started college too and I understand. This is how I am dealing with it and it works for me. So I give it as a gift to you.

Remind yourself

I am going to college to invest in my future.
I am going to study stuff I really enjoy.
There will be lots of other people in the same situation as me.
They could be new friends that I will keep for the rest of my life.
It's going to be great.
I can do this.

If you feel your self getting stressed just concentrate on breathing out slowly and the nerves will subside.

Ask yourself what it is about college you are really worried about? Living independently? getting lost? worried about meeting new people? keeping up with the work? Shortage of cash?

Then take each fear and think of how you can tackle it head on.

Take control. There is nothing to fear except fear itself.

Good luck. you can do this.

You must admit first that education is good for you You must also admit that your parents love you and that your community and the society need someone like you in the future. You must know that getting good education will be profitable to you too in the near future so you have to go to college.

Think about where you want to be and what you want to be in the future, Doctor, President, Prime Minister, a Director in big corporations, an Accountant, an Engineer, a renowned Authour, a respected Polititian, a career Diplomat etc etc? Then you have to say to yourself, College is meant for me! If these people did not go to college they wouldn't be what they are now. This is the fact. Make friends with your collegues in college, discuss with those ones among your collegues who could be of assistance in one subject/course or the other. Enjoy your free time during school hours with your friends. Do those good things you like doing. Make schooling an habit.

Please discuss your fear with your parents and teachers, they will help you a great deal. Believe you can have A* in all subject/course. Believe in yourself. Tell yourself " I am not gonna be sick and scare of College/school any more, it is meant for me" Visualise your collegues who are happy going to school and say "Me too can be happy going to college" Believe you are among the best in your school and that in deed You are the BEST!!

I know you have the potential to be the best so go all out and chase away that feeling of sickness and fear. You will make it. Please pray always. God's Grace is available for you to make it!

You can meet the girl, but don't think of it as a hook-up. Let it just be a normal meeting. If you put too much pressure on yourself to find a girlfriend, you will get a very narrow outlook. Every girl you meet will be 'possibly the one' and you may miss out on some important things. Relax, have fun, be a decent human being and the right girl will find you. In the meantime, don't hold your breath. Good luck.

Just remember that everyone is in the same position! For the vast majority of people, it's the first time you've lived away from home and your parents and it's bound to be daunting. But you'll be surrounded by potential friends, and you'll be so busy finding your feet and being busy with your course, that you won't have time to be worried. You'll have a fantastic time, make the best friends of your life and will look back on your anxieties and laugh! Enjoy yourself.

college is a cool place totally a different experience. with the dorm you have so many people basically right there and they are there to do the same thing you are set the ground work for the future, and have a ton of fun before they become desk jockeys. so if you are friendly and nice for the most part you will be totally fine.
