WHy shouldn't men be allowed to dress as women? When a woman puts on a pair of pants or a power suit, she is dressing like a man. In my personal experience in seeing male crossdressers who have come into the stores I have worked at, to tell you the truth, they looked more like women than actual women do.

I think you're a little confused. A crossdresser and a trangender person are two different people. And you can't be a straight male and also be both. And "full time" ? A crossdresser is a man who likes to dress up in women's clothes. It's not a full time thing. A transgender male is a person who believes he is a female person in mind that is trapped in a male body. Many people think something is wrong at a very early age. This is a very serious matter and can't really be talked about here. Do you feel like a female? If not, then you're not a transgender person. If you do,this is something you'll have to talk with with your wife first, and then a doctor. American society in general does'nt accept transgender people. They tend to reject anything they don't understand.

You already know the answer: Society isn't very accepting of crossdressers. The question should be why?
I believe the answer is that society believes that it is healthy for boys to want to be boys, and girls to want to be girls. When a boy dresses and acts like a girls because he "needs" to, then society thinks that this person is not mentally healthy.
The crossdresser is treated as having a "problem" of gender identity. This is treated similarly as a person who may have a gambling addiction or an addicting to alcohol. Crossdressers are treating in society as an unhealthy addiction. Think about it: Do crossdressers find it difficult to quit? When they purge do they just return back? Do they try harder and harder to attain some impossible goal? Are they trying to get a "rush" from doing this? Yep, sure seems like an addiction. Not a very healthy one at that.

Pretty negative and unaccepting. You do of course realize there is a difference between transgendered and transvestite. You are a transvestite. If your wife is supportive of this, then no big deal. Just don't expect the rest of society to be comfortable with it. If you go out all dressed up, be prepared for people to assume that you are a gay drag queen. Of course the degree of ridicule you may incur will largely depend on how well you pass as a woman. If people look at you and you look like a woman, they will just treat you as such. If however, you look like a man dressed up as a woman, you will most certainly encounter some opposition. I do believe you when you say you are straight. Be aware, you are not alone, and some cities have support groups for straight men who like to cross dress and go out together. There may be one in your area. A little Internet research could help you find one.

Who cares what other people think? All that matters is what you think.
I could be wrong but I thought a "cross dresser" is a male who dresses as a women or a woman who dresses as a man ( usually a man dressing as a woman). A transgendered person would be a person born with both male and female parts and or may have had a sex change.

I suppose it depends on how well you can pull it off. Almost all the crossdressers i ever saw were so obvious. There is a great site that deals with tips for these guys. I wish i could remember it for you? She is a makeup artist that only works with men. These guys are really homley and you wouldn' think in a million years anyone except God himself would make them look passable, but she can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Has a bunch of pictures on to prove it,too!

First, most importantly, what is your wife's view on you being an active cross dresser? That's way more important if you're married than what is the world view.
Secondly, the world view is based on ignorance, closed mindedness and judmentalism. How do you THINK the world views it?... (See above for proof)

I personally don't care how people dress, as long as they're wearing clean clothes and everything is covered up. It's more or less okay for women to wear men's clothing, so I don't see why it can't go both ways.
As long as your cross-dressing doesn't upset your wife or children (if you have any), then have fun. Be yourself.

Although there is no law against cross dressing, you must accept the consequences society will thrust upon you. Cross dressing is not normal, no matter what logic you use to convince yourself it is. I would recommend seeing a psychologist.
I will use Frank as an example.

Oh screw society's view. It makes you happy? Your wife is fine with it? Forget the rest of 'em and do what you want. It's your life, don't let anyone else dictate it for you.
