African American Vernacular English is a dialect of American English used by many African Americans in certain settings and circumstances. It is not slang, as people sometimes say. Like other dialects of English, African American Vernacular English is a regular, systematic language variety that contrasts with other dialects in terms of its grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary.
CAL has created and collected a variety of resources related to African American Vernacular English.

Why do you think that speaking Ebonics will help you to communicate with more people? Who are you trying to speak to? And if you're implying that you can only communicate with black people by speaking Ebonics then you're an idiot. And by the way, we went to the School of Hard Knocks to learn how to talk that way and you would never make it through admissions!!!
